With the temperatures in the 20s and snow on the ground, it seems like a great day for National Chocolate Cake Day.

It is the perfect excuse to turn the oven on and celebrate. Nothing says “winter comfort” like the smell of a chocolate cake baking and a warm slice shared with good company.

Supporting life’s changes as a community.
Life brings many transitions, and no one
should navigate them alone. Whether you
have been a resident for five months or five
years, there is something everyone can
benefit from.

Transitions Talk is a twice a month
discussion designed to support and connect
residents as they move through the natural
changes of aging.

Join us for a program kickoff on Tuesday,
January 27th at 1:30 p.m. in the Burnstein
Auditorium. Enjoy cookies, coffee, warm
conversation, and a chance to win a door
prize!

Starting February 2026, Transitions Talk will
meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each
month at 1:30 pm. Each session will explore
common physical, emotional, cognitive, and
social changes, while highlighting the many
resources available at Zarrow Pointe—from
Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled
Nursing, Long-Term Care, and Hospice
services.

More than just information, it is a space for
conversation, shared experiences, and
learning together. Topics to start the year
off on the right foot include getting plugged
in, knowing and loving your community,
wellness, and staying engaged with purpose.

This weekend’s forecast is calling for heavy snow and below-zero temperatures.

A few reminders for our residents, families, and neighbors:

🔹Dress in layers

🔹Limit time outdoors—below-zero temps can be dangerous fast

🔹Stay inside if you can once the snow starts falling and roads get slick

🔹Keep phones charged and a flashlight handy

🔹If you have to travel: go slow, leave space, and assume bridges/overpasses are icy

🔹Keep faucets dripping & cabinet doors open

We’re prepared here and focused on keeping everyone safe, warm, and comfortable. Please travel carefully if you’re planning to get out.
