Hillcrest was proud to sponsor the Youth Medical Mentorship's Fall Sports Medicine Youth Summit! Around 200 students spent the day at Union High School with 16 community partners and dozens of volunteers, gaining hands-on experience with medical professionals.

Our team members from Hillcrest South, Oklahoma Heart Institute and Utica Park Clinic led the CPR/AED station, where students practiced CPR techniques, learned how to use an AED and observed the heart in real time through ultrasound imaging. We're always grateful for the opportunity to help encourage young minds and inspire them to pursue meaningful careers in medicine!

Did you know that Hillcrest South has an entire lab dedicated to training our staff? This is the simulation lab, a realistic hospital-like environment complete with medical equipment and life-size medical mannequins. Our clinical educators bring in staff members of all skillsets and experience levels to help them learn and practice life-saving skills. One of the ways we use the lab is to train new graduate nurses, allowing them to practice procedures like placing catheters and nasogastric tubes, all while building confidence. In doing this, we're making better health care workers and building community in the hospital.

Happy Halloween from the sweetest little patients at Hillcrest South! The dedicated staff at our labor & delivery and neonatal intensive care units took the time this year to create costumes and set up a photoshoot for these infants on their first Halloween. We hope it brings joy on this spooky holiday! 🎃

A big thank-you to our staff who put in so much effort to make holidays special for these families on top of providing life-saving care.
