PSA: Ohio Nurses — Important CE Update You Need to Know!
We’ve had a number of customers reach out this week about recent changes to Ohio’s continuing education (CE) requirements, and many nurses are just now hearing about it and many are still unaware.
These changes took effect March 26, 2026, with little to no direct communication to licensees.
Here’s what that means:
☑️ LPNs must now complete CE by June 30, 2026 (previously October 31, 2026)
☑️ RNs must complete CE by June 30, 2027
☑️ New CE reporting periods are now in place
☑️ Only CE earned within specific date ranges (LPNs June 30, 2026 & RN June 30, 2027) will count toward renewal
For LPNs especially, this is a major shift-losing 4-months of time with very little notice.
The risk?
👉 Shortened timelines to complete CE requirements
👉 Increased risk of unknowingly falling out of compliance
👉 Potential impact on your license if requirements aren’t met
At a time when nurses are already stretched thin… this adds unnecessary pressure.
We want to help.
At CerTracker, we believe nurses should never be penalized for unclear communication or last-minute changes.
So we’re offering:
➕ Free, unlimited CE courses to meet requirements
