At Action Seating & Mobility, our Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs) are the bridge between complex technology and a life of independence.

This month, we are proud to spotlight Keith Dunn, an ATP at our Oklahoma City location!

Whether he’s troubleshooting a complex seating challenge or specifying the perfect power base, Keith’s goal is always the same: helping his clients move through the world with confidence.

Thank you, Keith, for your dedication to our Oklahoma City community and for always putting the "Action" in Action Seating & Mobility!

There is no greater compliment than a family trusting us with their mobility needs for more than a decade; and we are so moved by this review from Emma, highlighting her experience with our very own Keith Dunn.

"Keith is always super helpful and such a wonderful person to work with. My son absolutely loves him and he has been a huge help to us for the past decade."

Thank you, Emma, for letting Keith and the Action Seating & Mobility team be a part of your son's journey. Here’s to many more years together.

What are Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), why are they important in Occupational Therapy?

Activities of Daily Living are the fundamental things we do every day -- and often take for granted -- that are required for healthy living, for example:

✅ Being able to get in and out of bed
✅ Using the restroom independently
✅ Getting dressed and undressed

Occupational Therapists work with their patients to understand where they’re at with respect to their ADLs, create a plan to work toward improved outcomes, and help them achieve greater access to life.

We’re fortunate to work with so many passionate, driven OTs who go above and beyond for their clients. This month (and every month!) we’re celebrating their dedication, tenacity, and the compassion they bring to their work every day.

We are so touched by this review from Joellen about her experience with our very own Lorie Bush.

"Above and beyond customer service!!! Miss Lorie Bush was able to accommodate my daughter being past 6 ft tall … She went above and beyond to accommodate her height and the fact she's a girly, she was wonderful, and encouraging and patient and informative the entire time.❤️"

Thank you, Joellen, for allowing us to be a part of you and your daughter’s journey. We’re here to keep her rolling in style!

During National Public Health Week, we’re talking about what it takes to create a healthy society.

At Action Seating & Mobility, we believe one of the most important ingredients is access to life.

Think of assistive technologies as a bridge. When a person has a wheelchair or other piece of assistive tech that truly fits their body and their lifestyle, that bridge connects them to the things that keep us all healthy:

🍎 Nutrition & Independence: Being able to navigate the grocery store or reach the stovetop to cook a fresh meal.
🌳 Nature & Movement: The freedom to enjoy the outdoors and fresh air, which is vital for wellness.
🤝 Social Connection: Staying active in work, school, and faith communities. Social "connectedness" is one of the strongest predictors of long-term health.

This year’s theme, "Ready. Set. Action!" is a reminder that public health is a TEAM sport.

Because a community is only at its healthiest when everyone can be a part of the action.

Ready. Set. Action! It’s National Public Health Week!

Public health is more than just doctors and clinics; it’s the air we breathe, the parks we share, and the access to life that allows every person to be an active part of their community.

This week, we are joining the American Public Health Association to celebrate National Public Health Week. This year’s theme is "Ready. Set. Action!" and it couldn't be a better fit for what we do every day at Action Seating & Mobility.

To us, "Action" means:

✅ Enabling our clients to enjoy greater access to life.
✅ Partnering with our clients’ care teams to keep them healthy, safe, and moving.
✅ Going the extra mile to ensure our client’s assistive technology is the best fit for their needs every time.

Join us this week as we celebrate the people and assistive technologies that keep us all in motion!

At Action Seating & Mobility, we know that a wheelchair is more than just a piece of equipment; it’s a gateway to a full life. But we don’t do it alone!

April is Occupational Therapy Month, and we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible OTs who partner with us. While we bring the technology, OTs bring the clinical expertise to ensure their client continues progressing toward care goals that expand their access to life.

To all the OTs we work with: Thank you for your compassion, commitment to your craft, and your partnership.

You help keep our clients moving!

We love hearing from the people we serve!

"Went through the evaluation process yesterday, and the staff at Action Seating in Muskogee was excellent. Justin, who is the A.T. person, answered every question I had; and the P.T. who evaluated my condition really knew her stuff. Fantastic experience so far."

Providing the right equipment is only half the job; the other half is ensuring you feel confident and comfortable using it.

Thank you so much, Steven, for sharing your experience. We’re thrilled that you had such a great experience!

With a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Laura’s Barber’s passion for seating and mobility grew while working with clients navigating neurologic conditions.

She understands that the right equipment isn't just about movement; it’s about enhancing mental and physical capabilities to improve a person's overall well-being.

As we continue to recognize the challenges and needs of those with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) during Brain Injury Awareness Month, we’re grateful to have passionate people like Laura who help people with brain injuries get the assistive technologies they need.

We are so grateful for this heartwarming feedback from Courtney Hauf, one of our customers in Arkansas!

"Bill from Action Seating was great. Very knowledgeable and kind. He interacted with the kids who were asking him tons of questions and showed us all the features of our son’s new … chair. The text letting us know who was coming to the house was a nice touch too."

We’re thrilled to hear that Bill made the experience special for your son and your family, Courtney. Thank you for letting us be a part of your family’s journey and thanks so much for your 5-star review!
