At Action Seating & Mobility, we know that a wheelchair is more than just a piece of equipment; it’s a gateway to a full life. But we don’t do it alone!

April is Occupational Therapy Month, and we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible OTs who partner with us. While we bring the technology, OTs bring the clinical expertise to ensure their client continues progressing toward care goals that expand their access to life.

To all the OTs we work with: Thank you for your compassion, commitment to your craft, and your partnership.

You help keep our clients moving!

We love hearing from the people we serve!

"Went through the evaluation process yesterday, and the staff at Action Seating in Muskogee was excellent. Justin, who is the A.T. person, answered every question I had; and the P.T. who evaluated my condition really knew her stuff. Fantastic experience so far."

Providing the right equipment is only half the job; the other half is ensuring you feel confident and comfortable using it.

Thank you so much, Steven, for sharing your experience. We’re thrilled that you had such a great experience!

With a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Laura’s Barber’s passion for seating and mobility grew while working with clients navigating neurologic conditions.

She understands that the right equipment isn't just about movement; it’s about enhancing mental and physical capabilities to improve a person's overall well-being.

As we continue to recognize the challenges and needs of those with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) during Brain Injury Awareness Month, we’re grateful to have passionate people like Laura who help people with brain injuries get the assistive technologies they need.

We are so grateful for this heartwarming feedback from Courtney Hauf, one of our customers in Arkansas!

"Bill from Action Seating was great. Very knowledgeable and kind. He interacted with the kids who were asking him tons of questions and showed us all the features of our son’s new … chair. The text letting us know who was coming to the house was a nice touch too."

We’re thrilled to hear that Bill made the experience special for your son and your family, Courtney. Thank you for letting us be a part of your family’s journey and thanks so much for your 5-star review!

A wheelchair that doesn’t fit you properly doesn’t just cause physical pain. It can also negatively affect your psychosocial health and drag down the quality of your life.

[Social Withdrawal]
A poor fit affects everything about one’s access to life, and when wheelchair users feel that they can’t easily interact with the world, it can lead to a cycle of isolation where users increasingly withdraw from others.

[Depression]
With pain and social isolation being elements of everyday life in a chair that’s causing pain and limiting your access to life, it can quickly spiral into depression.

[Overall Decreased Quality of Life]
With a poorly-fitting wheelchair causing daily pain, making activities of daily life difficult, and social interactions few and far between, one’s overall quality of life suffers dramatically.

If you or your loved one are enduring pain or feeling increasingly isolated because your wheelchair doesn’t fit your life, we’re here to help.

At Action, we know that no two mobility journeys are the same. This is particularly true for those navigating the evolving needs that come with a brain injury.

An evaluation is the first step in our collaborative process. We work alongside you, your family, your physical/occupational therapists -- your entire care team -- to find the precise assistive technologies that support your comfort and give you the best access to life possible.

Let’s start the conversation and get the equipment you or your loved one needs:

When it comes to traumatic brain injury (TBI) recovery, a wheelchair is more than just your primary means of getting around; it’s an important tool in the rehabilitation process.

[Boosts Cognitive Energy]
When a seating system provides total postural support, the brain stops fighting gravity to stay upright. This frees up mental energy for speech therapy, memory exercises, and social interaction.

[Easier Respiration]
Custom-contoured backrests prevent "slumping," opening the chest cavity. This improves lung capacity, oxygen intake, and the ability to speak clearly.

[Prevents Injury]
With the body properly supported, and with the wheelchair working to make your activities of daily living (ADLs) easier to accomplish, you help prevent any further injuries.

Throughout March -- Brain Injury Awareness Month -- we’re helping raise awareness about traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and the needs of those who have them.

🧠Every 9 seconds, someone in the U.S. sustains a brain injury.

🧠At least 64 million Americans have experienced a brain injury.

🧠The average life expectancy of people with a TBI is 9 years shorter.

🧠Every year, 1 in 10 children experiences a TBI.

Whether you’re a survivor, caregiver, family member, or friend of someone who has had a brain injury, we want to hear your story.

Share your story with the hashtag and, together, let’s lift up the voices and experiences of the brain injury community.

Today is ! ♿️

At Action, we know that a wheelchair is so much more than just a piece of equipment; it's a vital part of navigating the world on your own terms.

Today, we celebrate the achievements of wheelchair users, recognise those who advocate for access, and raise awareness of the global need for appropriate wheelchairs that meet users’ specific needs and enable them to more fully access their life.

Stability starts at your core, and that’s exactly what lateral trunk supports are designed to provide. By stabilizing your torso, these supports make it easier for you to use your arms and hands for daily tasks.

• Better breathing: Proper alignment helps the chest expand more easily during breathing.
• Less fatigue: Lateral trunk supports prevent the "leaning tower" effect, saving you energy throughout the day.
• Easier transfers: Many models feature swing-away hardware that makes getting in and out of the chair much easier.

If your wheelchair or other assistive tech is uncomfortable and hampering your access to life, schedule your evaluation at:
