The Center Twisters opened their wheelchair basketball season with a strong showing at this weekend’s tournament hosted at the Hardesty Family Adaptive Sports Complex.

The Twisters welcomed the Wichita Wildfire and the OKC Rolling Thunder for a full day of competitive play.

The Center Twisters finished the weekend 2–0, an excellent start to the 2025 season. The team demonstrated focus, resilience and teamwork throughout each game, and The Center is proud of their performance.

The Center Twisters opened their wheelchair basketball season with a strong showing at this weekend’s Tournament on Route 66, hosted at the Hardesty Family Adaptive Sports Complex.

The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges begins its 12-day Holiday Mart countdown with Teri Kelley, whose Zentangle drawings bring detail and creativity to the season. Holiday Mart is The Center’s annual artisan market, featuring handmade ceramics, paintings, ornaments, woodworking, seasonal plants and more! Every item is created by member artists and local makers.

Holiday Mart will be held on Saturday, December 6, from 9 AM to 1 PM at The Center in the Hardesty Family Adaptive Sports Complex at 1707 East 11th Street, Tulsa.

Visitors are invited to shop local, meet the artists and enjoy a festive morning filled with creativity and community.

Metro’s ASL classes welcomed Diana Emerson, who has been serving with The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services Department (formerly TSHA) since 1988! She presented to the students about the Deaf Community, sharing how her organization plans events across Tulsa to promote awareness, inclusion, and connection within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges invites Deaf, Hard of Hearing, CODA and The Center youth and their families to join us for the Children’s Holiday Party on Saturday, December 13, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Asbury Church.

This free family event features crafts, games and a special visit from Deaf Santa, creating a joyful and welcoming space for children to celebrate the season together.

We look forward to sharing a festive afternoon with our youth and families as we welcome the holiday season.

The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges invites members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community to join us for the November Deaf Social on Thursday, November 20, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at the Hardesty Family Adaptive Sports Complex.

Enjoy an afternoon of conversation, snacks and creativity as guests “dip paint” pumpkins to take home for their Thanksgiving tables. Whether you come to chat, do a puzzle or just enjoy good company, it’s a wonderful way to connect with friends and celebrate the season.
