Movement is life

Good Morning! On Today's Tuesday Talk Time with Leigh, she talks about the importance of keeping the main fluids in the body flowing and circulating well.

New stuff I learned this weekend.

From Dr. Miriam Rose:
The heart’s rhythmic spiral motion creates a vortex that energizes the blood and produces a powerful electromagnetic field. The heart contributes to the forward motion of the blood in the arterial circulation but as the blood travels through the capillaries it slows and stops even. So stuff can be exchanged in the tissues.
It’s the pull of nutrients into the tissues and the push of waste out that contributes a lot of forward flow.
The pulse of the spiraling vortex also pulls blood forward.

Initially the heart is just a tube. A place where the blood stops and turns around. Circulation precedes the pulsation of the heart.
Yes at one stage the looped heart tube has just two chambers.
The two chambers are atria ventricles that each get divided into right and left.
Structurally the heart has four chambers at birth but they don’t function as separate circulations (right/left) until breathing happens. Pretty amazing.

Dr. Rose will be teaching embryology at the Ankrum Institute in Tulsa this September.
