Everyone should see this movie. Every child. Every adult. Every student. Every teacher. Every parent. Every child.

When I was in grad school many, many moons ago I completed an externship at a residential facility for adults with developmental delays. While there, I met a man who was in his mid forties. He was similar to Melody in the movie. He never had been given a way to communicate with others in his life until he entered this facilty. The SLP there had given him a board with written words on it to communicate. He had lost both of his parents and constantly wanted to talk about them. He would frequently tap his parents names on the board and sad. Always presume competence.

For over 40 years this man could not communicate his grief, his sadness, his happiness, his likes/dislikes, his jokes, his love to others where they truly understood his meaning.

This changed my life❤️
