Instructor Spotlight with Hannah!
Come see her Sunday mornings for a great sweat.

"My name is Hannah, I have been doing yoga most of my life. I practiced with dad as a young child, so it has been a huge part of my life. I am a librarian at McFarlin Library at the University of Tulsa, and I still practice and teach yoga. I like to read, walk my dogs and garden in my spare time."

Member of the Month: Cindy Loftin

I am originally from south Louisiana, and although I cherish my Cajun heritage, I also consider myself an Okie since I’ve lived here for over 40 years. I worked for AT&T for 30 years, and after retiring, I took a break and then went to work for LIFE Senior Services, a wonderful non-profit organization serving Tulsa seniors. After my second retirement, I realized that without the work, I needed to explore other ways to stay active and engaged. My friend, Susan, told me about yogaQuest and encouraged me to visit and try a session. I was hooked from the very beginning. There are so many classes to choose from and wonderful teachers to help me find the right ones for my needs. I have dealt with lower back pain issues for many years, and the Awareness through Movement and Gentle Yoga classes have brought me so much relief. Another huge benefit is the way the sessions help me center and find peace and calm. A wonderful feeling that I didn’t even know I needed. I plan to keep moving, and yogaQuest will continue to be a valuable partner in my self care regimen.

My mate, Bob, and I enjoy time with our grandchildren, godchildren, Broadway musicals, concerts, and traveling back frequently to Louisiana for family, friends, food, and Mardi Gras. We are thankful for this life and are both healthy and feel years younger than our actual ages. What more could we ask for?

SOUL PUNCH - Redefining Women's Safety

Soul Punch is a neuroscience-trauma-informed self-defense training system founded by childhood abduction survivor and former law enforcement officer Gloria Marcott. This is not martial arts. This is real-world, decision-based training built for women.

Workshop Description:

This is a Beginner Self-Defense Training Workshop taught by Dee Anne Day, Certified Soul Punch Trainer, based on real-life attack dynamics with one goal: To complete a single course with a significantly enhanced ability to survive a sudden, unexpected, physical attack or attempted abduction.

**Women under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.***

How our training is different:

We don't teach you how to fight. We teach you how to break down the body and disable the attacker.

The Training Covers:

*Foundational Safety (OODA Loop, voice boundary-setting) * Physical Defense (biomechanics-based strikes and escapes) * Soul DefendHER Device (smart defense tech training) *Cognitive Override (training the brain to act under threat)

Calling all yoga enthusiasts and those with an interest in Ayurveda! Join us at yogaQUEST for a series of three seasonal workshops. We will use the wisdom of Ayurveda and the practice of yoga to discover the assets and challenges inherent to each season (and corresponding dosha), dive into the anatomical regions of each dosha, and put it all together in a playful, seasonal yoga class designed to apply what you’ve learned.

Winter: Vata season (fall/early winter) is upon us and for many, that means holiday stress, multiple family gatherings, and a major uptick in social engagements. It’s no wonder we become more distracted, anxious and overwhelmed at precisely the time of year our body would like us to be hibernating and going within. In this engaging workshop, we’ll look through the lens of Ayurveda to see how our choices around our lifestyle, nutrition, and asana practices are either nourishing or depleting us. You’ll enjoy a grounding, vata-soothing yoga session, and will leave with tools and recommendations that will build Ojas (think immunity, strength), alleviate stress, and nourish you through the winter months ahead.

**Yoga Nidra: A Deeply Restorative Experience** ‍

Join us for an hour of deep rest through **Yoga Nidra**, a guided meditation practice often called “yogic sleep.” This powerful technique guides you to the peaceful state between wakefulness and sleep, promoting profound physical and mental healing.

Yoga Nidra has been shown to ease insomnia, reduce anxiety, relieve stress, and foster a sense of calm, clarity, and inner peace. Whether you're new to meditation or just in need of deep rest, this experience is for you.

**What to Expect:**
We’ll begin with gentle stretching to help settle into your body. Then, you'll lie down and get as comfortable as possible for the guided meditation. You'll remain still for the duration (unless you need to adjust), simply listening and relaxing. If you drift off—that’s okay! Many do, and your teacher will gently wake you if needed.

**What to Bring:**

* Yoga mat
* Pillows or bolsters
* Blanket(s) for under and over you
* Any props that help you feel supported while lying down

Some blankets will be available at the studio, but feel free to bring whatever you need to feel cozy and supported.

Let your body rest. Let your mind soften. Let your whole being reset.
