We understand that IEP’s can be daunting and difficult to understand at times. Starting next month, we are offering a FREE IEP review!

You can come in and ask any and all questions. Whether it’s regarding your rights as a parent, the process or clarification on certain things within an IEP. We will have a former Special Education teacher at our office in Tumwater to help out where needed! Feel free to share this flier with anyone you think may also benefit or has any questions.

Here are 6 big skills your child is practicing through play:

🌀 Turn-Taking – Play helps kids learn the back-and-forth rhythm of conversation.
💬 Language Modeling – When we use clear words and phrases in play, children hear and absorb new vocabulary.
🙌 Functional Communication – Asking for help, protesting, requesting more, or sharing excitement — play gives natural reasons to use words!
👀 Imitation – Copying sounds, words, and actions is the first step to building speech and language.
📈 Expanding Utterances – We build on what a child says (“car” → “big car” → “the big red car goes fast”) to grow longer sentences.
👫 Joint Attention – Sharing focus on the same toy or book teaches kids how to connect and communicate with others.

💡 Play isn’t “just play” — it’s the foundation for communication, learning, and social growth.
