Samiksha Mokashi and the team at Avamere Issaquah recently hosted Rep. Zach Hall, who is new to the Legislature, for a tour of their facility this week. Take a look at some highlights!

They spoke about HB 1476 and the delays associated with nursing home rebasing, H.R. 1 and its potential implications for Medicaid funding, and the need to include nursing homes on priority lists for restoration and relief during natural disasters.

WHCA salutes Senator Annette Cleveland (D-49-Vancouver) and Senator Leonard Christian (R-4-Spokane) for their work on the Senate Health and LTC Committee. As chair, Senator Cleveland is charged with setting agendas and priorities for the committee. In October, she made it a priority to host a tour of LTC settings including SNF and AL properties. Representative Michelle Caldier recently visited The Lodge at Mallard's Landing, where she had lunch with some residents and received a facility tour from Executive Director Samantha Sprigg.

Team WHCA is so appreciative of Rep. Caldier for taking the time to visit five of our member facilities. Bringing legislators and providers/residents together is one of our favorite things to do!
