The Wyoming County Community Health Foundation is proud to announce the second and final round of the Wyoming County EMS Staffing Program grants, totaling $450,000 to stabilize and support emergency medical services (EMS) crews across the county.
Three EMS crews that service Wyoming County applied, and each will receive a $150,000 grant to help address critical staffing needs: Kunkle Fire Company, Inc. - EMS, Meshoppen Fire Company - EMS and Tunkhannock Community Ambulance Association
We will be highlighting each EMS crew on our page this week!
We were excited to present a check to Tunkhannock Community Ambulance Association on Friday, as our Executive Director, Shealynn Shave, delivered a $50,000 portion of their grant in between EMS calls. Pictured with the check are Chief Mike Markovitz, along with Anna Sherwood and Ryan Rosa-Martir, who also provide EMS support to additional crews across Wyoming County.
With the EMS crisis happening across the country, supporting our own EMS crews has never been more important. When someone in Wyoming County calls 911, we want to ensure help is always ready. This funding is a vital step toward keeping our EMS teams strong and our community safe!
