Honoring 20 Years of Sanctuary Hospice this Thanksgiving Week! ✨
On Monday, November 28th, 2005, at approximately 4:00 PM, the Sanctuary Hospice House legacy began when we welcomed our very first patient through our doors. In the two decades since that sacred moment, nearly 10,000 souls have been lovingly cared for—each one leaving an imprint on this house and on the hearts of those who serve here.
What an incredible honor it is that our community continues to support the dream of our founders: a place where anyone in need could find refuge, comfort, and peace through the tender presence of staff who carry out their vision to serve daily as “the hands and feet of Jesus to all we serve.”
Pictured here are only a handful of memories—snapshots of only a few of our supporters, volunteers, staff, and families who shaped our story. Some are still with us. Some have gone on. All are part of the tapestry of love, compassion, and reverence that built Sanctuary into what it is today.
In late 2009, we accepted our first home hospice patient, and since then thousands have shared that their home was their Sanctuary. It remains one of our greatest privileges to care for patients wherever they choose to be.
From the tiny seeds planted on a mission trip to Mexico…
to the founders who came home and turned a vision into reality…
to the volunteers, the community advocates, the donors, the board members, and the employees who pour their heart and soul into this mission every single day—
thank you.
As we mark 20 years, we honor our past and embrace our future with hope. May Sanctuary continue to be a refuge for families for generations to come as we prepare to lovingly serve the next 10,000.
Your hopes, your dreams, your generosity, your belief in this mission -these have carried us for two decades. And as we step forward into the next chapter, we ask you to continue this journey with us, honoring the incredible work of those who came before and supporting the future yet to be written.
Thank you for 20 years of compassion, community, and care.
Here’s to the next 20. 💛
