As of today, Loretta Wadlington has been a part of the MSS family for 40 years — making every day brighter and every team stronger. We couldn’t be more grateful for her years of dedicated service!

We had the chance to celebrate Loretta earlier this year as she was named Employee of the Year by LeadingAge Southeast. We are nearing the halfway point of her final year before retirement, and we are planning a celebration at a later date to send her off in style. However, we couldn't let this day slip by without pausing to thank Loretta publicly for her everything she does to make MSS great!

The MSS Home Office Support Team performs a lot of very important work daily, but occasionally we pause to be silly, enjoy each other’s company, and have some fun!

Today our Culture In Action committee hosted a Halloween party complete with a haunted hallway, themed party foods and fun games!

The costume contest was a big hit and tons participated. Christie Vance (CEO) won as Raggedy Ann, but was followed closely my Merrin Cantin (VP for HR) with her roaring, dancing dinosaur. The team award went to Accounting as the glamorous M&Ms.

Everyone has returned to their work and we are doing those important things we do, but what a fun family to celebrate life with!

A heartfelt thank-you to LEAD, the CREATE Foundation, and everyone who makes Night for Nonprofits such a powerful force for good.

We’re thrilled to share that MSS’s mission-centric program, Meals on Wheels of Lee County, has received a $10,000 grant from the Night for Nonprofits event hosted by LEAD, the Lee County affiliate of the CREATE Foundation.

With this generous support, Meals on Wheels of Lee County will bring "Serving Grace" to life, a resale thrift store that will create a lasting source of support for meal delivery and outreach. Every purchase, every donation, and every volunteer hour will help provide nourishment, connection, and hope for seniors across Lee County.

Congratulations to Executive Director Ashley McDaniel and the Meals on Wheels of Lee County team of volunteers for their dedication. We can’t wait to see "Serving Grace" open its doors soon!

Our Team had the opportunity to celebrate 26 amazing graduates of the Beth & Henry Brevard Celebration of Leadership program in Greenwood, MS last week.

This 4th session was all about VISION and HOPE. This comprehensive leadership program continues to grow MSS leaders from across the whole state. The flame of compassion and service inside each of these graduates will continue to expand and inspire other leaders within our family to serve in the MSS-way.

Join us in celebrating these 26 graduating fellows, and all 90 graduates over the past five years, for their commitment to God’s mission of "...serving older adults in the spirit of Christian love.”
