Due to some recent confusion, I feel the need to post this. We started Midnight-Medical because we saw a need in the community. We all needed somewhere we could take our kids or ourselves, when it was later than 7 pm, for acute and minor medical needs that did not require the ER but needed attention tonight, not tomorrow. We know how inconvenient it is to have to take time off work to see the doctor. People don’t get sick 9-5, Monday through Friday, so we don’t work 9-5, Monday through Friday. We set our hours to cover the times when most other places are closed, which meant weekends and late nights. However, we do still need time off, so we closed when we thought we were needed least, the middle of the week. We here at Midnight-Medical wish the best for our patients; sometimes this means sending you to a higher level of care instead of treating something beyond our skill set and/or diagnostic capabilities.
Therefore, I have come up with a few guidelines for our services.

We will send you to the ER if you come here for the following reasons:

*Car/ATV/Motorcycle wrecks- we can not CT you for head or internal injuries, nor can we set visibly broken bones.
*Chest Pain- we can not determine if you are having a heart attack.
*Stroke Symptoms- again we don’t have CT machine
*Blood Clots- No ultrasound machine either
*Altered level of Conciousness- obvious confusion with no explanation
*Any fall with loss of Conciousness- A head CT is needed
*Head and Spine injuries requiring x-ray- CT gets a much better idea of what is going on when it comes to this.

What we will happily see you for at a very low self-pay price:

*Tooth abscess- We can’t file your health insurance for dental problems and since we’re not a dentist we can’t file to your dental insurance either. But we can give you meds to help until you get to the dentist.
*Lost/Misplaced Insurance or IDs- Insurance requires me to ensure you are the person using your insurance, therefore, you have to have your ID to use insurance as a new patient. Once you have been here we will look in your chart to verify it is you.
*Work/Sports physicals- unfortunately insurance won’t cover these

We will more than happily see you or your child for any of the following reasons (but please remember if we think you are sicker than you think you are, we may advise the ER):

*Fever- we can check you for Flu, Covid, Strep, RSV, UTIs
*Sinus issues- we even give cocktail shots to healthy adults or those who have controlled Diabetes and Hypertension
*Muscle pulls/strains- We can ensure you have no breaks if necessary, and provide shots and by mouth meds as we see fit.
* Cough, congestion- Again, possible X ray to rule out pneumonia and we can provide shots and by mouth meds as we see fit.
*Rashes- we’ll try and help you figure out why and get you meds to heal the skin.
*Ear pain- We’ll take a peek and see what needs to be done (irrigations or infections)
*Stitches- as long as we do not think it needs multi layer closure or would scar your pretty lil face. We even do well-behaved children, as in I don’t have to hold them down.
*Emergency medication refills- didn’t realize you were out of meds, we got you. (We just don’t write controlled substances)
*Anxiety/depression- we feel your pain, we’ll get you started on something (but no controlled substances) We will refer you to follow up with a specialist if you need additional care or counseling.
* Ruling out broken bones-we will gladly xray you and let the radiologists tell us if you have or do not have a broken bone. If you do, we will advise you to follow up with ortho.

What I can absolutely NOT see you for-EVER

* For free- I try to help as many people as I can with the lowest Self-pay prices I have heard of. We usually ask for at least 20% payment on balances and the cost of the known charges for that day, be it co-pay, co-insurance, or deductible. But I can’t work for free, none of my employees work for free, and none of you would work for free. So please remember that.

As many of you know we are a family run clinic, our family is everything to us, so we made a decision. We want to make more time for our family. I don’t know if we are growing older faster or they are growing up faster, but it’s speeding by. We will continue to be open til Midnight Friday thru Tuesday, but we are going to start taking Wednesdays and Thursdays off during the week. We believe this will allow us to still serve our patients and community where and when it is most needed, when everyone else is closed or closing early. Thank you all so much for your support over the last 7 years, yes, can you believe it 7 years and we look forward to serving you all for the years to come. The Mackeys.
