Valley Chiropractic Care

Valley Chiropractic Care My name is Dr. Christopher Akin. I am a graduate of Life Chiropractic College West and a Turlock native. A.R.T.

I did my undergraduate studies at Cal State Stanislaus in biology. Originally pre-med, I had a life changing experience with Chiropractic care. After 4 years at Life Chiropractic College I’m back in Turlock to reach out and educate the community on the profound, positive effects that chiropractic can have on their health, wellness and quality of life. As an intern I worked with very difficult chronic conditions such as Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Asthma. These patients saw a significant reduction in their symptoms. I also enjoyed working with children with ADD and ADHD as well as pregnant mothers and their newborns. I am also the only Active Release Techniques (A.R.T) provider in the Central Valley. Active Release Technique is a soft tissue treatment that involves treating the muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves. is used to treat anyone from professional athletes, to law enforcement officers, to teachers for their conditions. Not only does it work extremely well for athletes, but individuals have gotten permanent and quick results with shoulder issues, carpal tunnel, neck pain, plantar fascitis, sciatica and many other conditions.

Love it! If you're stuck at a desk all day try to incorporate some if not all of these! as a side note if you can't walk and chew gum then you might want to avoid the treadmill desk

A few years back, my general manager and editor hurt his back deadlifting. He found the only way he could comfortably work at a desk was to stand. It worked really well for him, even offering benefits above and beyond the improvements in lower back pain – stuff like improved energy levels and increa...

Simplicity is baked into the Primal Blueprint by design. You eat plants and animals, avoid grains, get plenty of sleep and sun, and spend time doing things you love with people you love, and things just kind of fall into place. You can tinker around the edges and get really into the details, but I [...

Think about this: I was just told by a patient (who is a pharmacist) they have been recommending patients to me who have been coming by the pharmacy to get their prescriptions filled for pain who suffer with sciatica ( pain traveling from the lower back down the leg). The patient was confused and frustrated by the fact that they KNEW of someone who could fix their problem WITHOUT MEDICATION and some their clients politely dismissed them. The clearly frustrated patient asked me " why would you take a pill (something to hide the pain) if you could fix the problem?" Remember: This is coming from a Pharmacist, someone who is knows the value of medication when is appropriate, yet they know when and WHEN NOT to take medication. This is a very powerful message, what are your thoughts?

Scared of Alzheimer Disease? Run!
An article in Annals of Internal Medicine followed people over their lifetime and found that those who engaged in physical activity such as running, rowing, etc OVER THEIR LIFETIME had a statistically lower risk of developing Alzheimer's Disease. Keep in mind this is people who exercised throughout their entire life. (jogging every year around the new year doesn't count) It's never too late to start, just don't stop!
