Halloween is 2 days away! Spooktacular! But wait... what should I know before all of the fun starts?

1. 🚗Drivers, SLOW DOWN. As the sun goes down, watch for children and people in dark clothing. Don't forget to look both ways and use extra caution on the road. 🛑

2. 🎉🎃 For the host and hostess with the plans to throw a party -- be sure to have a plan to help friends and guests get home safely. If drinking is in your plans, be sure to choose a designated driver amongst your friend group. When in doubt, get a ride home early from an Uber or a Lyft.

3. 🐈 Don't forget your furry friends. Be sure that animals can't get into treats that might be toxic to them and be sure to have them wear a reflective collar and secure leash.🐕

4. 👪 Compared to any other day of the year, children are 2x's more likely to be struck by a moving vehicle on Halloween night. Do your best to be a pedestrian that looks both ways before crossing the road at a corner. Do not cut across between parked cars, and don't cut across yards or use alleys. Who knows what might be lurking... 👻

This week, a handful of Northland Health Centers leadership is attending the 2025 CHAMPS Primary Care Conference in Spokane, WA. From October 25-28 our team will learn more about healthcare strategies related to governance, operations, healthy communities, and clinical practices.

What is CHAMPS?
The Community Health Association of Mountains/Plains States is a nonprofit membership association of community health centers in Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. Founded in 1985, the organization exists to provide mutual support and advocacy for community-based providers of primary care.
