Today was a productive day for BKCC and our staff. We had an extensive training facilitated by Toni Howard. As well as a few announcements about upcoming changes and upgrades to the company.

Special thanks goes to April Chandler for gifting the company with a hospital bed that came in handy for today's meeting.

Many times and for whatever reasons the family of an elderly loved one is responsible for being the caregiver to said loved one. Being a caregiver to a family member is a beautiful act of love and takes a lot of sacrifice. It also has many highs and lows. Many times maintaining your own household, working full time and caregiving can become overwhelming and stressful. We, the BKCC family, want to give you some tips to help you see the signs of caregiver stress so you can see them quickly and do what it takes to alleviate the stress before it causes burnout.
Here are some signs and symptoms of CAREGIVER STRESS:

1. Anxiety, depression, irritability
2. Feeling tired and run down
3. Difficulties sleeping
4. Overreacting to minor issues
5. New or worsening health problems
6. Trouble concentrating
7. Feelings of resentment
8. Drinking, smoking, or eating more than usual
9. Neglecting responsibilities
10. Cutting back or stopping leisure activities

If you find yourself feeling or doing some of these things; it may easily be signs of caregiver stress. Don't allow shame to make you feel as though you shouldn't feel this way. You've taken on a stressful task. Take time to deal with the stress and make a strategy to combat the it. Hopefully this helps you in your caregiver journey. God bless!

Yesterday, we said our last Goodbyes to one of our long time clients. She had sass and grit but she was a very sweet woman that we will sorely miss. Rest well! ❤
We, the BKCC staff, love you and we'll see you again. Please keep the family as well as our staff that were with her daily in your prayers.

Disclaimer: Due to HIPPA laws the name of our client will not be given without the permission of the family.
