It finally happened!!
Beginning January 1, 2026, Americans can use Health Savings Account (HSA) funds to pay for Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership fees, authorized by the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" (OBBBA) signed by President Trump on July 4, 2025. This hanging out my shingle and starting a medical practice of my own is a lifetime dream come true. After having been birthed from residency into the broken healthcare system and then practicing in the thick of it for 12 years, I began to wonder how much more I could take. Patients weren’t getting better, they were sicker. My job satisfaction was going down. I felt like my hands were tied and I had little to offer patients as an employed physician other than the status quo...
