The winter season brings its own set of challenges unlike the other seasons. As winter is still here and far from over be sure to: clear snow and ice from pathways, wear shoes with good traction, take small slower steps to prevent slipping, prepare your vehicle before driving and always pack a coat to stay warm and in case of an emergency. When going outside be sure to stay bundled up and be sure to keep your hands warm as they are very vulnerable to frostbite.
Clearing snow from driveways or sidewalks is very risky as well. if the auger gets clogged our first instinct is to fit it. Using our hands to do so can be very dangerous and the injuries can be extensive. Protect you and your hands by using a stick or other implement to clear the blades but never use your hands.
Did you know: the most common injury from a fall is a fractured radius. The radius is a bone in your forearm on the side closest to your thumb. When we fall and catch ourselves the impact of the fall, the radial fractures generally occur within the wrist joint.
