Oh goodness. The best way I can describe how this latest full moon decided to enter a room is like this: Picture a woman with a baby on each hip and wet hands, but she needs to open the door. Reminds me of something my mother said when I was younger: "That's why God gave you hips, girls." She broke the Plexiglas in our front door that day. My dad had just pulled away from the curb, but she forgot to tell him we needed milk. Logical.

The fact that this moon pulled so many emotions into an already emotional being (ahem - that's me) made me feel like I was being assaulted by my own thoughts. Here's what I discovered:

I talk often enough about taking your power back, but the truth is you can lose power to yourself easily enough. Enter: your thoughts. I had myself convinced that I was too compassionate... overly nurturing. Which made me ask why. Was I not loved as a child? Was I not nurtured? Through probably hours of contemplation I realized something.

I am compassionate. I am nurturing. It's who I am and who I am meant to be. It doesn't mean I wasn't nurtured as a child. It simply means I have the gift to show compassion to others so that they, themselves, may be able to turn and show the same to someone else.

Have you ever looked at a gift of yours and thought of it as a hindrance? Funny how when I think about it, I've never been told I am physically too strong. Although I have been told I am too emotional. Why the difference? Why is one any less or more than the other?

I encourage you to take a minute and embrace your strengths today, emotional and physical. We all have flaws. We all have weaknesses. But we all have more strengths that outweigh all of that. Recognize them and embrace them. Showing compassion to others is easy. Showing it to yourself is just as important.

Amethyst, sometimes called Holy Amethyst or Lady Amethyst, is an ascended angelic being and divine feminine archangel connected to the energies of transformation and transmutation. She is the divine counterpart of Zadkiel, the keeper of the Violet Flame, and for that reason has been seen as a guardian of that energy, or even a personification of it.
