COVID-19 Update: What to Expect at Your Next Appointment
We can’t wait to see you soon. Oral health is a gateway to your overall health, and your health is our top priority. As you might have imagined, things will be a little different at your next visit. To keep you safe and smiling, our practice is adhering to the American Dental Association’s guidance for providing dental care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here’s what you can expect before, during, and after your appointment:
Before your appointment
We will contact you prior to your visit to check on your current health status. You will be asked to fill out our COVID-19 screening form online and submit it to the office or do so when you arrive.
Please arrive alone to your appointment (this could entail leaving your children at home or having older children go into the office alone).
When you arrive
For your safety and ours, you’ll be asked to wear a mask. If you don’t have one we will provide a mask for you.
Enter the office right at the appointment time. Don’t arrive early.
Please stay in the entrance area behind the blue line until you are called forward. If there are already patients waiting to check-in please wait outside or in your vehicle until those patients ahead of you are through the check-in process.
You will be asked to hand sanitize your hands and wrists,
Your temperature will be taken.
You will be asked to look over their COVID-19 screening form and digitally sign. This record will be kept in your patient chart.
During your appointment
If you answered yes to questions on COVID-19 screening form your temperature may be taken again and the dentist will further discuss the form with the you.
The dental team will wear additional personal protective equipment (PPE), including face masks, plastic face shields, goggles and surgical gowns or long-sleeved lab coats.
You will be introduced to a variety of high-volume vacuum systems that will be used in the mouth, around the treatment site along with a hospital grade air purifier in each treatment room. You will find the high-volume vacuum systems can be quite loud, so hearing protection will be available.
After your appointment
To prepare for the next patient, staff will thoroughly clean the areas you have been in using cleansers specifically designed to deactivate the COVID-19 virus.
Patients will be checked out at the front desk area one at a time utilizing both checkout stations. You may be asked to have a seat in the consult room if both checkout stations are busy. Future appointments will be scheduled at this time.
All of this is done with your health as our utmost priority. You can rest assured that we are taking every precaution to ensure that our office is optimized for maximum safety. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have about your visit.
