💚Celebrating three years of SIM making a difference in coordinating mental healthcare
This month marks the third anniversary of Andrews’ Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) program—a collaborative approach that helps people with mental health needs find care instead of entering the justice system.
SIM strengthens coordination between law enforcement, courts, hospitals, and community providers, identifying key moments where compassionate intervention can change the course of someone’s life. ⚖️👮♂️ 🚔 🚑 🏥
At its core, SIM is about meeting crisis with care and building safer pathways for individuals—and for our community. One such project underway is the creation of jail diversion center in Tyler to provide a destination for those with mental health needs find the right kind of help outside of incarceration or in crowded local emergency centers.
“SIM is about changing outcomes by changing how we respond—together. Every partnership strengthens the safety net for our community," says Keisha Morris, Chief SIM Officer, Andrews Behavioral Health
