🙏The Power of Prayer🙏

Kelly remembers the moment with painful clarity.

Her four-year-old son, Oliver, had begun having a seizure — not a simple one, but a complex seizure with multiple presentations happening at once.

“I couldn’t tell if he was breathing or not,” Kelly says. “And I just started screaming, ‘Jesus, Jesus, just save him.’”

In that moment, prayer was all they had.

Kelly and her husband rushed Oliver outside as they waited for help. Later, they would learn their 911 call had not been coded as lights and sirens. The ambulance was still ten minutes away. But God had already set something else in motion.

Their oldest son — Oliver’s big brother — saw the emergency call come through. He was nearby. He didn’t wait. He became the first responder that day and saved his little brother’s life.

“As soon as the call was put through, we were screaming the name of Jesus,” Kelly recalls. “We didn’t know what to do. But God did.”

When Oliver arrived at the hospital, doctors worked quickly, administering multiple rounds of medication to stabilize him. Tests later revealed walking pneumonia and another infection layered on top resulting in a dangerous combination that caused his fever to spike and triggered the seizure.

When Dr. Price at Bethesda heard Oliver’s story, he listened closely — not just to the medical details, but to the miracle behind them.

“God is good,” Kelly says simply.

Kelly and her husband are raising a blended family of five children while working full time, without the safety net of traditional health insurance. In the midst of uncertainty Bethesda has been a place of peace, compassion, and care.

“For us, Bethesda has been an incredible blessing,” Kelly says. “We know we are in a safe place.”

Oliver’s story is a reminder that sometimes healing begins before medicine — in prayer, in faith, and in the hands of a God who hears His name being called.

And thanks to Bethesda supporters, families like Kelly’s continue to have a place where faith and care meet — when they need it most.
