SPARK Saturday!

The Decorations Committee had so much fun putting together flower centerpieces for our Valentine’s party. They mixed roses with heart picks and some greenery, arranging everything in cute vases with little ribbons. Each table had its own sweet, colorful bouquet that made the room feel extra cheerful and full of Valentine’s spirit.

Through our Spark™ program, it is a joy to see our residents’ eyes light up when they take part in activities whether they be old favorites or something brand new.

We celebrate our seniors as the unique individuals that they are by providing them both meaningful experiences and proven therapeutic techniques to help them retain their cognitive capabilities to the fullest extent possible.

If you would like to learn more about how your loved one living with dementia can fill their days with meaning and purpose through our award-winning Spark™ program, we would love to speak with you more about it. Please reach out to Sarah at 903-316-0096.

Steve enjoys helping our Environmental Services Director with his morning tasks. He helps blow off the courtyards and takes pride in contributing to the community. We create social roles for our residents so they can continue doing the things they once enjoyed and find purpose in their daily routines.

Thank you Steve!

Wine Down Wednesday with Karaoke and Velvet Berry Sangria!
Our Resident Care Coordinator, Dee, and Environmental Services Director, Rith, jumped in to share some tunes during this fun-filled happy hour! Laughter, singing, and familiar melodies filled the room as everyone joined in the joy.

Music has a powerful connection to memory—familiar songs can spark recognition, bring back meaningful moments, and encourage residents to reminisce and connect with one another. Even when words are hard to find, music often remains, helping boost mood, reduce stress, and strengthen emotional bonds. It’s more than entertainment; it’s a beautiful way to support memory, engagement, and overall well-being ❤️🎶

Talented Tuesday!
Artsy Hands Club enjoyed making Valentine-themed wreaths for their doors with Katie from Amcare Pro. They got to pick the colors they wanted for each heart and arrange them however they liked. This gave them time to think through their choices and enjoy the creative process, making each wreath personal and unique.

Thank you to Katie!

Fun Friday

The residents who participate in our Artsy Hands Club were given art supplies and the freedom to create whatever they wanted. These creative activities also support procedural memory—skills that can be learned or strengthened through repetition—allowing routine actions to be performed with less need for focused concentration. Through art, residents are able to express themselves while reinforcing important cognitive skills in a relaxed and joyful way.

Wellness Wednesday was a great success! Residents enjoyed a walk around the building followed by time visiting together in the courtyard. Our Walking Committee especially appreciates days when the weather cooperates, making it possible to get everyone moving and outdoors. Lucy led the pack and proudly stayed out in front the entire way.

Walking offers many benefits for residents living with dementia, including improved circulation, increased mobility, reduced anxiety, and positive mood support. Regular movement also helps promote routine, independence, and overall well-being.
