Dear Friends,
I write this letter with a great deal of mixed emotions. For the past forty-three years as owner of Mendocino Physical Therapy, I have spent the majority of my time and effort caring for you and your family's health and well-being. Symbolically, in the autumn of my seventy-fifth year, I am finally saying good-bye to all of you, letting go of the reins but celebrating the great privilege that has been mine to consider and care for all of you as my family.
This would have been impossible without a great deal of help. The right people seemed always to show up as we needed them most. This is particularly true of Mendocino Physical Therapy's new owner, Billy Binns. In the midst of a health crisis of my own, Billy appeared seemingly from nowhere and assumed the leadership of the clinic. He has already proven his capabilities and I know he will continue the tradition as the consummate caring professional that he is. I leave knowing that you are all in good hands and want to thank each of you who have expressed the love and concern that I have felt in this difficult time.
I am particularly thankful to all of you for having been my teacher. Even as I was teaching you about movement and the effort required to maintain our health, I was learning how much community is required to achieve this. I hope still to keep my promise and pass this on in the form of the book that many of you have requested, so keep a look out for it at Mendocino Book Company in the future.
Thank you all.
