JOB OVERVIEW

Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
Empty and sanitize ash trays daily.
Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
Clean, wash sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Ensure that water marks are removed from fixtures.
Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc.

Requirements:

Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in California.

Job Overview:

Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
Chart nurses’ notes in professional and appropriate manner that timely, accurately and thoroughly reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident’s response to the care.
Ensure that assigned certified nursing assistants (CNAs) are aware of the resident care plans. Ensure that the CNAs refer to the resident’s care plan prior to administering daily care to the resident.
Administer services within the applicable scope of nursing practice, which may include: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, taking blood, giving massages and range of motion exercises, care for the dead/dying, etc., as appropriate and in accordance with applicable standards.

We are looking for a skilled CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) to become a part of our facility’s compassionate, care-giving team. The CNA will interact directly with patients, providing comfort and transportation, monitoring their vital signs and assisting with daily living needs. We are searching for a dedicated, compassionate and energetic individual to be a vital link between our patients and the nurses and other facility staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Assist with daily living activities. This includes delivering meals to patients,
turning and ambulating patients and providing plenty of fresh water, as well as
extra nourishment between meals
• Help patients with personal hygiene. Provide patients with bedpans, help with
baths, shampoos and showers
• Provide adjunct care for the patient, including ice packs, non-sterile dressings
and therapeutic baths
• Check vital signs and record daily information in the patient’s chart
• Assist the nurses and other staff as needed
• Adhere to professional standards, follow policies and procedures and abide by
federal, state and local requirements, as well as Joint Commission standards

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• High School diploma or GED
• Completion of a state-approved CNA certification training course
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and
effectively
• Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive
information with empathy (“bedside manner”)
• High tolerance for working under pressure and handling critical situations with a
cool head
