Did you know? Before mass production, almost every medication was compounded... and some of the ingredients were pretty out there. 💊 Pharmacists once mixed remedies with things like o***m, mercury, co***ne, and even gold leaf. In the 1800s, a popular cough syrup contained morphine and chloroform, and another “tonic” for children listed he**in as the active ingredient. Thankfully, modern compounding has come a long way since then.
