Now that we have been open for a month and ironed out a few wrinkles, we would like to go over a few things.

1. We have a phone number that you can text in addition to the page. (620) 203-2858

2. As stated in the waivers that were signed, everyone must scan their gym pass in their app before entering. Even when you are with someone who scanned before you.

3. There is no tailgating (letting someone else in without them scanning). There are two cameras that we have activated to monitor tailgating. The cameras use AI to detect and track those that don’t scan. As stated in the waivers, there is a $25 fee that will be charged to the person that did scan, but allowed someone else to enter.

Attached is a video as an example. She scanned her app and he came in with her which would result in the $25 fee.

The reason we have this policy in place is to help keep costs low for our gym members and to help maintain the value of the membership. If you have any question or concerns feel free to message us.

We’ve had some questions about the scale. If you don’t sue the scales app, it will only give you our weight. The app is called unique health, and it will connect to the scale via Bluetooth to give you over 50 different readings about your body. Those features require you to stand in it without socks on.

Can’t open the doors to the gym with your app?

Today a setting inside your app was changed so that if you haven’t signed the waiver AND the terms then the doors won’t open. If you’re having a hard time finding where to sign them both, I can send you a link.

Apex Fitness Reminders & Info

• Monthly memberships are prorated. If you sign up halfway through the month, you’ll only pay for the remaining portion of that month.

• Use code APEX2026 to waive the $25 one-time sign-up fee. This code expires March 31st.

• If you’re the last one leaving the gym late at night, please turn off the lights before you go.

• If you notice any issues with equipment, please report them to us so we can get them taken care of as quickly as possible.

Per request we ordered 3 pads that can double as a back or seat cushion for those that may be vertically challenged and want to use a machine that doesn’t adjust to their needs fully. They also have a slot in the back with straps if you would like to use than as shown in the photo below with a barbell.

Three years ago we had a crazy idea…
What if we created a place where families and individuals in our community could stay active, prioritize their health, and have fun together?

That idea eventually became Apex Fitness… and soon High 5 Adventure Park.

Like most big dreams, the road here wasn’t easy. There were plenty of roadblocks along the way. But moments like today’s ribbon cutting remind us why we started in the first place.

We are especially grateful to the Ulysses School District for working with us and helping make this building possible. Their willingness to collaborate made this opportunity a reality.

Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce, our friends, family, and this incredible community for cheering us on along the way. Big shout out to our amazing team over at Prairie Vista Dental! Many of them helped in the evenings and weekends- even bringing their friends and families- to help put together gym equipment!!

This space was built with the community in mind…for healthier families, stronger individuals, and a whole lot of fun.

We can’t wait to see what memories are made here.

Gym Updates!

We’ve added a few new things to the gym based on member requests:

• Weight/BMI Scale – This has been placed in one of the bathrooms since the BMI feature requires you to stand on it with bare feet. Please disinfect the scale after each use.

• Hack Squat / Leg Press Machine – We’ve added a new hack squat that can also be used as a leg press. We’re excited for you all to try it!

• Disinfectant Spray & Rags – By the end of today you’ll see a laundry hamper near the main entrance. Spray bottles and rags will be available for members who prefer to wipe equipment during their workouts.
Please place used rags in the laundry hamper on your way out.

• Stroops Resistance Bands – We’ve added 8 new bands:
4 medium resistance and 4 heavy resistance.

• Adjustable Step Platforms – A few step platforms have also been added for workouts and classes.

Thank you for all the feedback and suggestions. We’re always working to make Apex Fitness even better for our members!

Just as a reminder, we will have our ribbon cutting tomorrow at 10am. Since we will be setting up for the event, the gym will be unavailable for working out from 9am until noon.
