Inspiration for the Journey

Every day in recovery is a step toward renewal. Healing doesn’t always happen all at once, but God is at work, creating new beginnings, restoring hope, and shaping lives one day at a time.

We’re grateful to walk this journey together, trusting in the new things still to come.

December was a month full of meaningful wins at Penfield.

We celebrated 3 baptisms, 3 rededications, and welcomed 17 new clients into our program. Each number represents a life taking steps toward healing, restoration, and new beginnings.

We’re grateful for what God is doing and for the community that continues to support this mission. As we step into a new year, we remain committed to walking alongside men on their journey of recovery, one day at a time.

We’re incredibly thankful for the Lake Oconee Church team who came out to serve our campus by helping paint the gym and take care of landscaping. Their willingness to show up, work hard, and serve with joy made a lasting impact on our space and on the men who use it every day.

As we celebrate this joyful season, we want to pause and say thank you. The heart of Penfield Addiction Ministries has always been the people - the individuals we serve, the families who support them, and the staff and alumni who walk this journey with compassion and hope.

Our team gathered this year to celebrate Christmas with laughter, fellowship, and a reminder of why this work matters so much. Every life restored, every family reunited, and every step forward in recovery is a gift we never take for granted.

Christmas reminds us that light often enters the world in quiet, unexpected ways. Recovery begins the same way - one brave decision, one small step, one moment of hope. We witness that miracle every day because of God’s grace working through our staff, donors, partners, and community.

We loved being part of the Lavonia Christmas Parade this year. Our Lavonia campus was proud to roll through town spreading Christmas cheer, sharing hope, and celebrating the season with our community.

Moments like this remind us that recovery is about connection, joy, and showing up where we live and serve. Thank you, Lavonia, for welcoming us and celebrating with us!

It’s been a full and meaningful month at Penfield! Our guys helped assemble the Christmas tree at Lake Oconee Church, we connected with leaders at the District Attorneys Conference in Young Harris, and a wonderful team from Lakeside Church volunteered their time to help us paint around the facility. Grateful for a community that shows up and supports recovery in action.
