Our client is seeking a Systems Administrator – Patch Management to join their team based in Ashburn, VA.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
· Test the latest releases of all purchased software packages, operating systems, networking equipment, and storage devices are current with the latest software and firmware release.
· Ensure all purchased software packages, operating systems, networking equipment, and storage devices are installed with the latest software and firmware release.
· Monitoring systems for performance, reliability, and security
Other Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
· Day-to-day systems administration (server support, account management, troubleshooting)
· Provides technical support, troubleshooting and complex problem resolution
· Help design and implement virtualized solutions using VMware
· Support PCI compliance requirements as they intersect with the responsibilities of this position
· Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed: nights and weekends. Must be willing to respond in a timely fashion to evening emails and phone calls.
· Other duties as needed
Required Skills & Experience:
· Administration of Microsoft systems such as Windows Server, Exchange, SQL Server, IIS, WSUS,
· Administration of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls in a corporate network
· Windows Hyper-V
· Microsoft Active Directory & Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, FTP
Desired Skills:
· Create scripted automation (PowerShell)
· Outage and system recovery experience
· Backup administration, scheduling and troubleshooting
· Network Security/Firewall/Infrastructure Security (Remote Access, Physical, PCI)
· Documenting System Configuration, Policies, Procedures, Standards
· Research and make recommendations on network products, services, software, etc. Outage and system recovery experience
Education:
Bachelor in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
MCSE / MCSA / VCP / CCNA certifications (or similar) preferred
