"Native American Heritage Month, taking place each year in November, is a time to uplift the stories and experiences of Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and Island communities. It’s also an important reminder that mental health care doesn't look the same for everyone. Native American communities need and deserve culturally relevant su***de prevention resources." ~American Foundation for Su***de Prevention

Today is World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme is “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies" and highlights the urgent need to ensure mental health and psychosocial support is available to people affected by crises, such as conflicts, natural disasters, and health emergencies. It also stresses the importance of providing support for humanitarian workers who are on the front lines during these events.

Seven in ten teachers currently have at least one student in their class who is grieving the death of a parent, guardian, sibling, or a close friend who has died within the past year.

Our student grief support groups offer a structured, compassionate environment where students can connect with their peers who are experiencing similar feelings. Each six-week series is activity-based and tailored to address each group's unique needs.

Parents/Guardians: If your child is interested in joining a group, talk to your school counselor, social worker, or other school professional.

School professionals: Contact Annie's Hope to learn more and schedule a support group for this school year. Call 314.965.5015.

The Franklin County Homeless Task force is in desperate need of tents and sleeping bags. The weather is still warm, but in a few short weeks the nights will be bitterly cold and we have many community members that will be forced to sleep outside. Please check out our Amazon Wish List to see if you can purchase any of our needed items. All items are sent to Union but dispersed throughout Franklin County.

If you cannot help with the Wishlist, please consider donating to a local food pantry or stocking the free little food pantries.
