‼️A raccoon in the Second Creek Road area has tested positive for rabies on April 27, 2026.

Please ensure that your pets and livestock are up to date on their rabies vaccinations. If you do not know the vaccination status of your pet, please contact your veterinarian office. This is not only crucial for their safety but also helps prevent the transmission of the disease to humans.

Avoid approaching or handling any wild animals, especially those displaying unusual behavior.

Take steps to protect yourself, loved ones, and pets:
🔴Vaccinate your pets regularly;
🔴Teach your children to avoid wild animals and never approach them;
🔴Do not feed wild/stray animals. Keep cat/dog food indoors;
🔴If you see a sick or injured animal, don't approach it! Contact the 911 non emergent line (304) 772-3912;
🔴If handling a sick or dead animal, do not come in direct contact. Wear gloves and use a pitchfork or shovel to transport carcass.

🔥 UNPLUG CHARGERS AFTER USE

A simple habit… can prevent a disaster.

Most people think once you remove your phone, the charger is “safe.”
👉 It’s not.

⚠️ Chargers left plugged in can:
✔ Overheat over time
✔ Draw continuous power (standby load)
✔ Cause electrical faults—especially if damaged or low quality
✔ Ignite nearby materials like curtains, paper, or bedding

💡 Cheap or fake chargers = higher risk
👉 Poor insulation
👉 Weak internal components
👉 No proper safety protection

🔥 WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

✔ Unplug chargers when not in use
✔ Use certified, quality chargers only
✔ Avoid charging near flammable materials
✔ Never leave devices charging unattended—especially overnight
