I have been back and forth with this post. Mostly because I am raging inside, but also crying and shaking.

ALL major medical organizations say conversion therapy is harmful and torturous. There is a global consensus that it is ineffective and causes severe psychological and physical damage, leading to lasting trauma.

And yet the Supreme Court is expected to LEGALIZE conversion therapy in all 50 states.

One of the arguments being cited is that homosexuality was a DSM diagnosis. Not since the second DSM, and yes it appeared in different issuances as different things, but it hasn’t been in the DSM since 1987 (way too late, yes). So why are we trying to resurrect a treatment for a disorder that is not a disorder? When you know better, you do better (Angelou, 1995)!

The practice has been proven harmful, it is not simply talk therapy, it is re-conditioning, it invalidates the human being in therapy with you. Do NO harm. Yet invalidation is beyond harmful, it is destructive.

Honestly after all the consideration, stopping and re-starting this post, trying to release the rage so this is only psycho-educational and not tainted by my own strong feelings, I have decided just to say my truth:
Any therapist willing to use conversion therapy should have their license pulled immediately. They have entered a helping profession for reasons of power and control, to force their views on their clients, not to support individuals to be the best human they were born (created) to be. There is no room for that level of EGO in this profession.

We have allowed the government to disregard science, empirically proven facts, too often (vaccines, medication, women’s reproductive health, weather, etc) do not allow them to add this to the list of atrocities, they condone, against our children.

Please, I beg of you, if you believe in God, and that God doesn’t make junk, then stop trying to impose your “improvements” on His creations.

* These are my science based, moral based thoughts.

This is getting exciting!!

Everyone, I'd like to introduce you to Acts of Healing.

We are a brand new nonprofit in St. Louis, MO focused on working through trauma with theater.

The mission of Acts of Healing is to support youth who have experienced trauma, while they learn to allow, understand, and express emotion in a healthy and productive way through words, movement, and personal expression.

We will be working with youth 12-18 to create a play, musical, and an actor written production. Each built to build on each other in different ways to express and identify emotions.

We will be launching our website August 1, 2025 at midnight. We would love for you to learn more about us!! So give us a follow on Instagram ( ) or on Facebook at facebook.com/actsofhealing

We are very excited about starting this journey with all of you, and everyone that is yet to come. ❤️
