Dr. Elaine Harper integrates education, mental health and social emotional learning. Through roles as parent, teacher, assistant principal, and non-profit leader, she brings uniqueness, including trauma informed care for teaching and leading. During EQ2A, Dr. Harper is helping educators and parents have useful opportunities with young people to build social emotional skills through the use of stories, “SELthruLIT.” Participants will learn how to guide the process so that social emotional learning can happen from the “once removed” perspective of a character. You won’t want to miss this unique intersection of literature and SEL!
