Penn State Pre-Vet Club Welcome to the Pennsylvania State University Pre-Veterinary Club, a club for undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.

IMPORTANT FALL UPDATE:

We have decided to hold all general club meetings via Zoom for the fall semester. Meetings will be every Monday at 7:30 PM. This will allow us to alternate between hosting speakers and having more interactive and social activities during meetings (trivia, mock interviews, zoom hangouts, etc).

We hope to be able to offer some in-person opportunities at some point as well, such as hands-on labs. These will have a set maximum capacity for attendance with appropriate safety measures in place, and masks will be required to attend.

We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and can’t wait to see you all soon!

Flashback Friday: Previous Ag Days!

The Penn State Pre-Vet Club is a pre-professional student club devoted to providing club members with information and experiences relevant to future careers in animal science and veterinary medicine. The club is heavily immersed in the College of Ag, with an active participation in Ag Day every year. In 2019, we introduced a new activity called “My Dog Ate What?” to Ag Day. Participants were shown radiographs from foreign body cases (including dogs, cats, and even a lizard!) and were asked to guess the object each animal had eaten. Club members then explained each case and answered any questions the participants may have had regarding the case, veterinary medicine, or the club’s involvement in the College. This was a great way to immerse the community in the field of veterinary medicine and to show our Ag pride!

Some of our members attended the 2020 APVMA National Symposium at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine this weekend! Students got to attend lectures and wet labs such as Exotics Handling, Ultrasound, Comparative Dystocia, Equine Acupuncture, Splenectomy and Goat Yoga! Also, congrats to our two members that were awarded APVMA Scholarships during the Saturday night banquet.
