People prone to depression shouldn’t drink alcohol. People who struggle with anxiety shouldn’t consume caffeine.

This is written while sipping black coffee, proving I am not perfect, but anxiety is less of an issue for me than depression was.

Seven years ago today (I remember because it was a dear friend’s birthday and I bowed out of the celebration), I decided to take a break from alcohol. I wanted to see if I could avoid the darkness that descended so predictably after celebrations. The simple, logical step of avoiding depressants worked— like magic. I never looked back. The “break” (interruption) became a BREAK (separation).

I wake with a smile every December 1st. I celebrate more level and predictable emotions. It’s not perfect, but it’s a lot better.

Acupuncturists examine various influences and their impact on the mind, body, and spirit. Sometimes we spin our wheels for years, stuck because we don’t see the big picture. Sometimes it’s easier to see that big picture with guidance. I’m here when you are ready. 815-508-8635
