One last birth before my own! ❤️
I have loved supporting this fun couple. It was a long two days of induced labor but mama worked so incredibly hard to advocate for the birth she wanted and to overcome some unexpected obstacles. While birth didn't go quite as planned, she rocked every bit of it with such strength! Women truly are rock stars as they navigate the dynamics of birth to bring their babies into the world!!

Another beautiful baby boy (and nephew!!) was born right on his due date at 12:02am this morning, only minutes after mama arrived at L&D. I am in awe of not only the speed of her labor but of the strength and control she maintained. So proud!! What a privilege to witness!! 💙

I had the honor of supporting an amazing couple yesterday as they welcomed their sweet baby boy into the world. There is nothing better than watching couples become parents and it's even sweeter when clients feel like friends. This little guy is beyond lucky to have them!!

I've been holding on to a "little" surprise! We thought our baby years were behind us with our youngest being 6 but we thought wrong. Baby boy #4 will be joining us this Summer! 💙
While I hoped to be able to serve more mamas this year, I will be on maternity leave from June through at least the end of 2023.
I am grateful to experience this pregnancy and birth from a Doula perspective. I'm also looking forward to having the support of my own Doula again! 💕

Happy New Year!
This quote really resonates with me. It reminds me of making birth goals. Goals are excellent and highly encouraged! Sometimes we reach our goals and sometimes we don't. What really gets me about this quote is getting really good at knowing our values! Even more than our goals, our values can continue to guide us even when our goals need to pivot.
So don't forget to ask yourself:
"What are my values?"
"What really matters to me when it comes to my birth and welcoming my baby into the world?"

The "Golden Hour" is the first hour immediately after your baby's birth and it is so worth protecting!
This is uninterrupted time where baby is snuggled skin to skin with the mother, a warm blanket over the top of them, and the environment is calm. There are so many benefits that come not only to the baby but to the mother.
When choosing your care provider and birth location, it is important to know if they support this uninterrupted time and leave routine baby checks until you are ready.
