Whether you're working from home or scrolling at work on your lunch break, there are ALWAYS a few minutes where you can get out in the sunshine and get moving. This is such an easy way to get a few extra steps in, reduce cognitive load, and reset your nervous system before getting back into your busy day...

If you want to and , you have to take actions that are aligned with your needs. You have to choose you. No one's going to do it for you.

Just be clear. There are a number of contributing factors that bring about burnout. However, a noisy, anxious mind WILL cause stress, decrease clarity and effectiveness, and significantly increase the likelihood of burnout.

No matter what you currently believe, you ARE the master of your own thoughts. What you think and how you speak to yourself, internally or externally, influence how you feel and how you respond to life.

The most important skill you can ever develop to mitigate stress and improve peace, clarity, and happiness is objective, present moment awareness.

The easiest way to develop this invaluable skill is to sit in a quite place, with your eyes closed, and focus on your breath... Not the thought of your breath—the details of the physical sensations of your breathing as you inhale and exhale through your nose. Observing the sensations of your breath, in that moment, without any judgement. Just awareness.

When your mind wanders, and it will, do not judge yourself. Simply label it as a thought acknowledging that you are not your thoughts and your thoughts are not reality, then return your attention back to notice the sensations of your breathing.

The more awareness you give to the physical sensations of your breath, simply observing without judgment, letting go of the thinking, the more in tune you become with your physical body, and the more present and accepting you become in the moment.

Overwhelm lessens into nonexistence because your thoughts are no longer controlling you. It's replaced with your awareness of your breath and physical sensations in this moment and the deep, knowing that you are not your thoughts.

With this simple practice, You can completely shift your mindset, energy, and physical life experience.

This is by far one of the simplest and most powerful micro habits that I've consistently maintained over the years, rain or shine.

The evidence supporting direct morning sunlight for improving everything from energy and focus to sleep quality it's undeniable. Likewise, for getting out in nature and physically grounding with your feet touching the Earth, which boosts mood, improving symptoms of depression and overwhelm, and can even be beneficial for reducing inflammation in the body.
