Did you know Zuckerberg San Francisco General hosts the renowned Orthopaedic Trauma Institute (OTI)? With the most extensive international outreach program and the largest number of trauma-specialty-trained providers in North America, OTI is essential to the SF Bay Area.

Dr. Ted Miclau, Director of OTI and Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at ZSFG, shares, “The care we provide is essential and outstanding – and that is in large part thanks to the team we have here at OTI. Every day, the team comes in and is just excited to be around each other, working together to help the community, no matter their situation, through the clinic and through research.”

From life- or limb-threatening injury care, to sports medicine and prosthetics, OTI is critical to the recovery and well-being of patients.

Today we are proudly celebrating the Honeycomb Clinic, located in Zuckerberg San Francisco General’s Children’s Health Center.

Founded in 2023 by Drs. Dannielle McBride and Ursula Griffiths-Randolph, the Honeycomb Clinic is a program that pairs Black-identified patients with a Black-identified clinician, if they choose, allowing for a commonality not often found in health care settings.

The Honeycomb Clinic has seen remarkable success since their founding, including raising continuity of care and steadily dropping no-show rates.
