This old rusty horse shoe has been in my scrap pile for a while. Wasn't sure what to do with it but wanted to preserve it and show off the craftsmanship of the farrier that forged it who knows how many years ago. This shoe was hand forged from wrought iron with a couple forge welds. Wrought iron is often misidentified and hasn't been produced in the US since 1969. Real wrought iron shows a grain like structure much like a piece of wood and has way more character compared to the modern steels produced today.
