SCORH had the pleasure of celebrating National Rural Health Day in Lane, SC, yesterday, alongside community partners and neighbors committed to strengthening rural South Carolina.

Without support from champions like Regina Nesmith-Dimery, our 2025 Community Star, CMD’s Food & Resource Hub would have far fewer resources to offer as national USDA pantry funds continue to decline. Regina’s dedication to blended funding streams, hands-on community building, and keeping partners energized makes a real difference during challenging times.

We were honored to celebrate with her at the Lane Town Hall and to help collect non-perishable food items for CMD’s Food & Resource Hub in recognition of the Power of Rural. 💙🌾

🌟 Happy National Rural Health Day! 🌟

Today, we are proud to celebrate South Carolina’s 2025 Community Star — Regina L. Nesmith-Dimery, MS.

Regina serves as the Community Engagement Manager for the P*e Dee Region at the SC Department of Public Health and has dedicated more than 30 years to improving the lives of rural communities. Her unwavering commitment, servant leadership, and passion for grassroots solutions have driven meaningful change across Williamsburg, Lee, and Florence Counties—from expanding fresh food access to championing maternal and child health initiatives.

Regina embodies the very spirit of South Carolina: resilient, compassionate, and deeply rooted in community. Her warmth and hospitality shine everywhere she goes, and SCORH is honored to stand beside her in recognizing this well-deserved achievement.

Happy National Rural Health Day! 💙🌾

Today, we join communities across the country in celebrating the Power of Rural—and the people, programs, and partnerships that strengthen South Carolina’s rural communities.

Each year since 2011, National Rural Health Day has honored the incredible efforts of rural healthcare providers, organizations, and leaders dedicated to meeting the unique needs of rural America.

This year’s South Carolina NRHD poster features “Marsh Solitude,” an oil painting by Durand Hall, who joined us at our Annual Rural Health Conference. Durand has served in healthcare for 19 years, managing two busy rural health clinics for Self Regional Healthcare. He is also a bi-vocational pastor in Trenton, SC, and a passionate artist whose creative work includes photography, painting, and capturing special moments with his family.

We’re proud to celebrate rural communities—and honored to feature Durand’s artistry and commitment to rural SC! 🎨✨
