Got a DM the other day from Josh Cockerell — and if you’re not following him yet, you’re missing out, because he’s been doing work with my rubs. He said the combo of Sweet Amber Fire and Cackalacky Cheerwine BBQ Sauce was “one of the best rub-and-sauce pairings I’ve come across in all my years of cooking cue.”

Now listen… when a seasoned pitmaster says something like that, you don’t ignore it — you verify it.

So I dusted a couple chops with that maple-chipotle Sweet Amber Fire, dropped them in hot cast iron to get a proper sear, then glazed them up with the Cheerwine sauce.

And yeah… Bill wasn’t lying. 🔥

Sweet, smoky, tangy, just the right bite — this combo absolutely slaps.
