The Rainbow Health Board of Directors would like to thank our remaining staff, The Aliveness Project, and the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) for their swift action in transferring our former HIV care responsibilities to The Aliveness Project. The Aliveness Project supports individuals living with or at risk of HIV through various transformative resources and direct services. These include food and nutrition support, case management, housing assistance, HIV testing, and support groups. Former Rainbow Health clients can contact The Aliveness Project by emailing info@aliveness.org or visiting their website at aliveness.org. The Board and remaining staff continue to work on transferring LGBTQ+ services to appropriate groups.

Rainbow Health Therapist Thursday, Megan Treziok (she/they), MPS, LADC, LPCC.

I am dually licensed as a LPCC and LADC and specialize in adults who were diagnosed later in life with ADHD and/or Autism, depression, anxiety, grief & loss, LGBTQIA+ populations, life transitions and the intersection of mental health & substance use.

I believe that each client is the expert in their own experience and focus on strengths within each person. My job is to help sort through those experiences and values in order to assist clients with where they want to go next in their lives. I have taught mindfulness, meditation and self defense/empowerment in the community for 15 years and bring those experiences into the therapy room. I am trained in EMDR and work from an IFS & AIR Network lens.

When we work together, my goal is to create a space of acceptance and security. We focus on issues that are of concern to you and what you want to achieve. I am so excited to speak with you!

Rainbow Health Therapist Thursday, Lee Start (they/them), MSW, LICSW, LADC.

My specialties include group and individual therapy specific to religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and faith transitions/deconstruction, supporting those exploring gender identity and affirming care, and those seeking to explore a better-feeling relationship with themselves, others, and the world. I work from trauma-informed, abolitionist, anti-capitalistic, harm reduction, fat liberation, and s*x-positive lenses and work to address the impact of the systems we navigate in and how they impact mental health, opportunities, and access.

My training includes a master’s degree in social work from Augsburg University, and I am dually licensed as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). I have a bachelor’s degree in theology.

I am a certified practitioner in AIR Network for complex PTSD and dissociation and have done specialized training on religious trauma, and evaluation and letter writing in support of those pursuing gender-affirming care. I have worked as a s*xual assault advocate with youth, adults, and families with trauma, domestic/s*xual/familial violence histories, and those who have experienced systemic disenfranchisement.

You are the expert of your own experience and deserve a therapeutic relationship that is safe and judgment-free in which to pursue your goals, discover your strengths, and work through the tough stuff while feeling supported and empowered. My approach is tailored to each individual’s wants, needs, and comfort. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a 15-minute consultation with me, please reach out!

Yesterday, LGBTQ+ people 50+ gathered for the 2024 edition of the Bolder & Older Pride Dinner, part of our Pride Month celebrations. It was a huge turnout! With an estimated attendance of 150, far exceeding expectations. The evening was filled with great conversations, laughter, delicious food, a photo booth, swag bags, and even puppies!

After dinner, attendees enjoyed a free concert by the Minnesota Philharmonic Orchestra performing "Open Spaces." They experienced the unbound freedom of wide-open spaces through pieces by Aaron Copland, Alexander Borodin, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Andrew Yee, Diane Benjamin, and Beethoven.
