✨ Let’s be clear—elderberry isn’t a cure.
It’s not a miracle.
And it won’t keep you healthy 100% of the time.
(Sorry. I won’t lie to you.)
BUT… it is a really solid support before, during, and after respiratory illness. 💜
We have a medically complex kiddo who catches everything—and whose rare body actually doesn’t tolerate elderberry well (bummer). So for our family, the goal became this: do everything we can to stay well ourselves to help protect him.
And honestly? That’s how Carrie’s Berries was born.
This past week he came down with an upper respiratory bug.
And of course… sneezed directly into my face.
Multiple times.
Because kids. 😅
Here’s the wild part though:
Out of 6 people in our house, 4 didn’t get sick at all.
And I personally had just a mild ache + stuffy nose for a day or two. That’s it.
This is why we use elderberry in our home.
If we can reduce sick days and lessen how hard illness hits when it does show up—we’re all in.
📚 Bonus for my fellow nerds:
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that adults with influenza A or B who took oral elderberry extract recovered about 4 days sooner than those who took a placebo.
