Practice Boots.

This term makes me cringe.

MORE INJURIES OCCUR DURING PRACTICE THAN DURING COMPETITION‼

Which boots you put on your horses during training is just as important, if not more important, than which boots you use during a run. Elite athletes with 2 legs take extreme precautions to prevent injuries during training (think taping ankles, knee braces, etc), so why not hold your 4 legged athlete in the same regard?

By not practicing in supportive, protective, quality boots you are doing a disservice to your horse and future performances. Plus, purchasing a good set of American-made boots is a heck of a lot cheaper than treating a torn suspensory.

Stop buying hand-me-down "practice boots" that should be thrown in the garbage and invest in a quality 24/7 preventative approach. Just like anything, it's not a guarantee but every bit helps - so start buying "competition boots" that you use during training.
