Whether you travel for pleasure or to compete, several factors can throw your fueling game off: lack of sleep😴, food 🍛, and fluids🚰, can hurt your performance.
Tips to keep in mind:
1. Drink more than usual on planes and avoid caffeine & alcohol. The dry air on planes increases evaporation off the skin and ☕️and 🍻increase your need for extra fluids.
2. Make sleep a priority and aim for 7-9 hrs/ night. Generally it takes 1 day per hour time change to get adjusted but YMMV. Set watch on plane to new time zone use a white noise APP to ⬆️ hrs sleep. More injuries occur in athletes who don’t sleep well!
3. Fuel first with breakfast and fuel often during the day. Pack sports bars, sandwiches, and fresh or dried fruit on the plane for long flights. Fluids won’t make it through TSA 🛃 so take empty water 💦 bottle and fill before boarding.
4. Put your performance first🥇 drink adequate fluids for body weight. Losing > 2% of body weight through sweat because you didn’t drink enough on the plane is for losers 🚽!

Dad’s measure out pitcher’s mounds in the backyard & buy new gloves… dads go on hikes with their daughter in the desert, dads eat pancakes on Sunday, & Dads cheer on their kids in athletic events or buy the best musical instruments for their kids. They’re not perfect people but they love their kids and want the best for them! THANK YOU for all the dads in my life! I love you!.

One fish, two fish, red fish… well you decide what color MY face was when I saw THIS presentation!
Americans should choose fish 2x/week for better heart health and I hope it’s not as problematic as my experience! After we all had a good laugh and recovered from the shock of seeing those fish eyes, I dug in and filleted that fish like nobody’s business!
