💔 With a Heavy Heart 💔
It is with deep sadness that I share that my sweet Riley earned his angel wings on Saturday. In October, he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and over the past few days, it became clear that his body was just too tired. Still, he had a beautiful final morning — a long walk at UNF, some pup cups, and salmon — all of his favorite things.
Riley was truly one of a kind. Born on October 1, 2015 he filled my life — and the lives of so many others — with love, laughter, and comfort. As a therapy dog in my mental health practice, he brought joy and healing to people every single day. I often joked that some clients came to see Riley more than they came to see me! 🐾
He was my best friend, my steady companion, and truly my heart dog. He saved me during COVID and stood by me through every chapter of life. This week will be especially hard for everyone who loved him — and there are so many.
Run free, my sweet boy. You will forever be loved and missed. ❤️🌈
