Today, Peaceful Birth Company stands in solidarity with those participating in the ICE shutdown and protesting systems that harm and destabilize families.
Our work has always been rooted in justice. We believe every family deserves safety, dignity, and the right to live, birth, and parent without fear. Immigration enforcement policies that separate families and create trauma directly contradict the values of compassionate, community-centered care that guide our practice.
At the same time, birth does not pause for protest. Our doulas will continue attending births today, because supporting families in labor is also sacred, urgent justice work. Showing up for birthing people — especially those most vulnerable — is part of how we build the world we believe in.
We can hold both: resistance and responsibility. Advocacy and care. Protest and presence.
We remain committed to protecting families, honoring bodily autonomy, and building communities where all parents and babies are safe and supported.
