Death and destruction of our natural environment has a profound impact on our mental health, with effects experienced to varying degrees based on age, proximity, and exposure. We are intrinsically connected to nature, with both green and blue spaces, such as forests and meadows, lakes and oceans, fostering a calming and settling effect on frazzled emotions. Do you ever find yourself overcome with anxiety about what someone else is thinking of you, crafting narratives of what they must be thinking and berating yourself over imagined slights? To step outside of this harmful cognitive loop, pause and shift your focus to one of loving kindness toward them. You may find that the fear begins to melt away under this new, softer focus.
