Building Beyond Therapy Inc. Our focus is to create a safe space for pregnant women and mothers in support of the transition into parenthood.

We specialize in adjustment issues as well as postpartum mood disorders.

As we bring National Social Work Month to a close, Building Beyond Therapy's CEO & Founder, Kristen Brooks testified before for the Maryland General Assembly earlier this month advocating for perinatal mental health.

Title: Health, Health Insurance, and Health Occupations -
Perinatal Mental Health Conditions (HB1118).

This bill is a step in the right direction for addressing perinatal mental health and could save lives. House bill (HB1118) has been cross-filed (SB0891).

We are very appreciative of Delegate White Holland and Senator Gile for their leadership!

Instead of feeling the pressure to be a "perfect" mother, it’s the privilege of being an authentic one.

Consider this: I get to be a mom today, opposed to I have to be a mom today..

Showing them how you handle mistakes or how you chase your own dreams gives them permission to do the same. It’s a privilege to be the person who defines for a child what strength, kindness, and resilience look like. You aren't just raising a child.. you are showing them what a human being is capable of.
